The "Haptic Typographies" series stems from my personal photographs taken throughout the Pacific Northwest and my fascination with its unique environment. These photographs emphasize the haptic qualities of organic compositions, shapes, and textures of the region's plants, lights, and minerals, integrating glimpses of text through an over-geometrized typographic pattern.
The compositions start with photographs of the Pacific Northwest Coast and are further developed using digital tools through a series of controlled instructions and parameters. This direction and co-creation process results in surreal compositions. The "Haptic Typographies" series is available as prints in a variety of formats printed in cotton hot pressed paper. • 2022-2023
